Today, a strange thing happened to me. I had gone to an ATM to withdraw cash. There I found that the queue was longer than what one could have expected because one of the two machines had a sign which said it was temporarily out of order. I thought, nothing surprising! After all when everyone was trying to conserve cash, it might not be easy for the bank to replace a faulty machine.
So, I joined the queue. When I had almost reached the head of the queue, someone came to me and said that the other machine had also started working. I happily went to the machine, which still carried an ‘out of order’ tag, and inserted my card into the slot. But gotcha, my card got stuck! On complaining to the guard, he mildly scolded me that how come I didn’t read the out-of-order message? And I felt like oh yes, he was right! But I had been told by someone that it had been fixed. Anyway, I called phone banking and got my card blocked for security purpose.
On hindsight, I realized someone had played a practical joke with me. Now I am thinking was it really a joke, if yes who was behind it and why did he do it? Was it just to send me out of the queue so that his turn could come a little early? Or was there something else playing in his mind? Perhaps, I would never know!

I don’t think it might be a joke !!
one who told might saw machine by side edge and thought ohh machines seems fine and that idiot guard sitting outside had not seen that !! so he might said this. and your hard luck you got your time wasted for your card to get back !!
